윤영빈(b. 1991)은 2010년대 중반부터 일상의 사물과 유통되는 이미지를 수집하고 재구성하며 회화 작업을 이어왔다. 그는 휴대전화로 촬영한 사진, 클립아트, 포장지와 스티커, 생활용품과 주변 풍경 등 일상에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 이미지와 사물을 작업의 소재로 사용한다. 서로 다른 출처에서 가져온 이미지들을 한 화면에 조합하거나, 이미 존재하는 이미지를 직접 회화로 옮기는 방식을 지속해왔다. 매끄러운 화면과 얇은 붓질, 원본 이미지를 닮은 형태를 만들어내는 방식은 그의 회화를 특징짓는 주요한 요소다.
최근 작업에서는 집 벽의 균열에서 발견한 형태를 얼굴로 발전시키거나 이를 클립아트에서 가져온 사물과 결합하고, 직접 만든 물감과 굳은 물감 조각을 사용하는 등 작업의 범위를 넓혀가고 있다. 화면 속 이미지를 재현하는 데서 출발한 그의 관심은 점차 붓질과 물감의 흔적, 캔버스의 표면, 그리고 회화가 놓이는 공간으로 이어지고 있다.
윤영빈은 2022년부터 세 차례의 개인전을 통해 작업을 발표해왔으며, 그 과정에서 수집된 이미지와 사물의 조합에서 재현의 방식과 회화의 물질적 조건으로 관심의 범위를 넓혀왔다. 일민미술관의 《포에버리즘: 우리를 세상의 끝으로》(2024), 서울시립 북서울미술관의 《떨어지는 눈》(2025) 등 주요 미술관의 기획전에 참여했다.
Yeongbin Yoon (b. 1991) has developed a painting practice since the mid-2010s by collecting and reconfiguring everyday objects and circulating images. His sources include photographs taken on his phone, clip art, packaging and stickers, household objects, and scenes from his immediate surroundings. He brings images from disparate sources together within a single composition or translates existing images directly into painting. Smooth surfaces, thin applications of paint, and forms that closely resemble their source images have become recurring features of his work.
In recent works, Yoon has expanded his practice by developing forms found in cracks on the walls of his home into faces, combining them with objects taken from clip-art libraries, and working with handmade paint and fragments of dried paint. His initial interest in reproducing images has gradually extended to brushwork and traces of paint, the physical surface of the canvas, and the space in which a painting is situated.
Yoon has presented three solo exhibitions since 2022, during which his practice has expanded from arrangements of collected images and objects toward a broader engagement with modes of representation and the material conditions of painting. He has participated in major institutional group exhibitions including *Foreverism: Endless Horizons* at Ilmin Museum of Art (2024) and *Falling Eyes* at Buk-Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul Museum of Art (2025).
