이해강(b. 1989)은 스프레이 페인트와 유화를 통해 모호한 이미지를 그린다. 비록 두 소재는 그리는 방식이나 표현되는 형식에 있어서 매우 다르지만, 두 소재를 함께 사용하는 것은 스트리트 컬쳐와 현대미술의 결합이자 각 분야에서 활동하고 있는 작가 자신을 상징하기도 한다. 작가는 그래피티를 시작으로 영상 크리에이터로서 활발하게 활동하는데 2014년부터 페인팅 작업에 관심을 보여왔다. 스트리트 컬쳐와 현대미술이라는 서로 다른 문화의 예측할 수 없는 예술적 혼성은 애니메이션 기법 중 하나인 ‘모핑’을 통해 실현된다. 모핑을 통해 서로 다른 두 개의 이미지가 갖는 특징을 유지하면서도 새로운 형태를 만들어내는 작가만의 방식이다.

Haekang Lee paints ambiguous imagery through spray and oil painting. Although the two materials seem physical and stylistically incompatible, each represents different cultures that Lee personally connects with. Although the artist is more familiar with graffiti works, he maintains his curiosity towards the popular method of oil painting, which can be applied slowly and has the ability to be edited. Thus, combining the two makes for an unpredictable artistic matrimony. The artist calls his technique ‘Morphing’, which he defines as transferring one animated object to another while maintaining separate physical characteristics
